Once up tower they will need the physical strength to pull up tools and parts weighing as much as 35 lbs using a pull rope.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Able to work in adverse outdoor weather conditions with summer time temperatures above 100 f. and winter temperatures of -10 f.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Tools and/or a quantity of hand tools generally weight up to 30 pounds.聽 Some mechanical components are irregularly shaped, and may weigh up to 75 pounds.聽 Also, while working with pressurized systems, it may be required to lift cylinders that contain high-pressured gases, and are 4 to 5 feet in height, and may weigh up to 75 pounds.聽 Mechanic duties require manual dexterity and the ability to properly use hand and power tools. 聽 Good writing skills are necessary to fill out service reports and other documentation needed. 聽聽聽Knowledge, Skills and Abilities聽Thorough knowledge and understanding of approved mechanical maintenance methods and practices, Accident Prevention Manual, Station Procedures, EME and EMOMI policy.聽 Must posses the skills to perform mechanical equipment repairs.聽 Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing and the ability to work without direct supervision during performance of work.
