Northwestern College is located in Orange City, a small community in NW Iowa. The College has approx 1,100 resident students, who can choose between board and retail dining. The position of the GM is responsible for the overall operation of food service including catering. The GM will regularly interact and meet with a number of clients. Candidate must be strong in the areas of team building, the ability to train and coach employees and be able to provide high customer service and excellence in food quality and variety. In addition, candidate must be able to plan and host a number of events on campus that allow students and the community to come together. Strong financial acumen a must to understand the nuances between board & retail, labor management and strong menu planning. Candidate must be able to engage in creative thinking in order to grow retail sales. GM will have to salaried managers and an hourly staff. The ideal candidate will have: College/University General Manager (food) experience -- experience managing other salaried managers – experience running resident dining, retail and campus catering operations -- strong financial skills -- excellent client relation abilities. Unit managed volume is $2M. Responsibilities: Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

The course allows time for establishing personnel and finance records, purchasing uniforms, and receiving instruction in several basic areas of military life. The military orientation course is followed by a ten-week academic course at the JAG School in Charlottesville, VA. During this phase, you receive instruction on the organization, function, and mission of the U.S. Army JAG Corps, and an overview of the practice of law in the U.S. Army, including military criminal law, government contract and fiscal law, legal assistance, claims, administrative law, and international and operational law. The training continues with four weeks of the Direct Commissioned Officer Course (DCO) and ends with six weeks of officer leadership and Soldier skills training at Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC). You will go to one of two locations for DCO and BOLC: Fort Benning, GA or Fort Sill, OK.
